Salem Derisavi

Salem Derisavi is an experienced technology leader with a robust background in compiler engineering and software development, currently serving as Tech Lead/Manager at Cerebras Systems since February 2021. Prior positions include Principal Compiler Engineer/Manager at Untether AI and Principal Engineer at Huawei Technologies, where notable achievements include designing and testing an end-to-end software stack for a custom machine learning accelerator and successfully incorporating SIMD instructions into a data-center-focused ARM processor. Earlier roles at Altera involved creating a retiming tool for the Stratix 10 FPGA and optimizing algorithms for performance improvements, while experience at IBM focused on leading the development of a polyhedral optimization framework for compilers. Salem holds a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and a BS in Computer Engineering from Sharif University of Technology.
