Mike Peterson

Mike Peterson has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Mike is currently the Senior Head, CTO at CFA Institute since April 2020. Prior to this, they served as the CTO at Travelzoo from June 2018 to April 2020. Mike also worked as an Advisory Chief Data Strategist/Advisor at xScion Solutions from June 2016 to September 2019 and as an Advisory CTO at Parkar Consulting Group from June 2016 to June 2018.

Before that, Mike held a significant role at NeuStar, Inc. as VP of Platforms and Data Architecture from February 2005 to June 2016. During their time at NeuStar, they led various strategic and tactical initiatives in the CTO organization, including the technical pivot from a Telecom Services company to an Information & Analytics company. Mike also led the company's R&D efforts in building an IoT platform and labs team focused on the Industrial Internet. Additionally, they led the data services team responsible for extending the multitier data platform.

Mike founded their own software company, Linguateq, in 1996, where they served as the CTO Founder. During this time, they built the MVP platform and led investor pitches, resulting in Series A funding of $16 million. Mike also built and led technical and product teams for the core mediation product.

Throughout the 1980s and early 1990s, Mike held various technical roles in different companies.

Mike Peterson attended Kane, PA Area High School from 1972 to 1975. Mike then pursued further education at Ferrum College from 1975 to 1976. Finally, they attended Appalachian State University from 1976 to 1979, but it is not known if they obtained a degree or studied a specific field.
