James Pearce

James Pearce has extensive work experience in the agricultural biotechnology industry. James started their career at Syngenta as a Post Doc and later became a Scientist. James then moved on to work at Cibus as a Senior Scientist, where they focused on metabolic engineering and genome editing. James also served as the Director of Molecular Biology, managing a functional group and leading projects in crop modification for biofuels. After leaving Cibus, James joined Nucelis LLC as the Senior Director of Research and Development, overseeing genetic and fermentation research. James later joined Monsanto Company as the Microbial Research Site Lead and then joined Bayer Crop Science as the Microbial Discovery Lead. Following this, James established their own consulting firm, James Pearce Consulting, where they provided technology scouting services to venture capital firms in the agriculture biotech industry. James also served as the Head of Technology at Compound Foods, leading R&D efforts for sustainable food products. Currently, they hold the position of VP Biology at CH4Global, where they continue to contribute their expertise in agricultural biotechnology.

James Pearce has a PhD in Biochem with a focus on Bacillus thuringiensis toxins from the University of Cambridge. James also holds a degree in Biology from the University of Nottingham.
