Elizabeth Baker Keffer joined the U.S. Chamber of Commerce in April 2022 as executive vice president and chief relationship officer. In this new role, she leads a team focused on member engagement, value, and growth across the Chamber’s policy programs and initiatives.
Previously, Keffer served as partner & chief network officer at BDT & Company, a merchant bank serving substantial founder- and family-owned businesses globally. Her responsibilities encompassed managing significant relationships for the firm, in addition to connecting and convening limited partners and clients to share best practices and lessons learned.
Prior to BDT, Keffer was president of AtlanticLIVE, the events division of The Atlantic, where she also was publisher from 2001 to 2007 and responsible for revenue across print, digital, and events platforms. Before joining The Atlantic, she served as executive vice president and chief marketing officer at the Advisory Board Company and the Corporate Executive Board, managing all revenue and the sales/renewal teams for those firms through the launch and rapid growth of their membership programs until their respective IPOs.
Keffer is co-chair of the University of Virginia Parents Fund Committee and chair of the Middleburg Forum; a board member of Ford’s Theatre and an emeritus board member of Research!America; and a member of The Economic Club of Washington, D.C., and Fortune’s Most Powerful Women.
Keffer received a B.A. in English with honors and a minor concentration in human biology from Brown University. She completed executive seminars in Finance for Non-financial Managers at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and in Sales Force Management at the Kellogg School at Northwestern University.
