Tyler Nelson earned their Associate of Science (AS) degree in General Studies from Southern Union State Community College between the years 2007 and 2009. Tyler then pursued a Bachelor's degree in English/Language Arts Teacher Education from Auburn University, which they completed from 2009 to 2012.

After that, Tyler continued their education at Western Governors University, where they attained a Master of Education (M.Ed.) degree in Learning and Technology between 2015 and 2016.

In 2017, Tyler enrolled at Liberty University and obtained an Ed.S degree in Educational Leadership and Administration. Tyler remained at Liberty University and completed their Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) degree in Educational Leadership and Administration from 2017 to 2021.
