Brian Aevermann

Brian Aevermann is a seasoned bioinformatician specializing in single cell genomics with a strong background in data management and analysis. Currently serving as Data Manager for Single-Cell Biology at the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative since October 2021, Brian previously held the position of Senior Bioinformatics Analyst at the J. Craig Venter Institute from October 2012 to October 2021. Brian's expertise includes processing single cell and single nuclei RNA sequencing data and developing novel machine learning methods and ontologies. Additional experience includes roles as a Research Specialist at Cibus LLC, a Research Associate at aTyr Pharma, and a Research Assistant II at OHSU. Brian earned a Master's degree in Cellular and Molecular Biology from San Diego State University and a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
