Karen Franco

Karen Franco has a diverse work experience spanning across various roles and industries. Karen started their career in 2015 as a Youth and Young Adult Services Intern at the American Red Cross, where they communicated with volunteers and assisted in administering the internship program.

Karen then worked as a Breakout Leader at Princeton University's Pace Center for Civic Engagement, where they co-led a road trip and conducted research on the immigration climate in New England states.

Karen also served as the Princeton Regional Director at South Central Scholars, where they played a key role in the organization's operations.

In 2015, they joined Matriculate as a Founding Advising Fellow, training in advising and college research skills. Karen coached and advised high school students, and later became the Head Advising Fellow, responsible for establishing the organization's chapter on the Princeton campus.

Karen gained experience in public interest communications through roles at Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids and The Frank Karel Fellowship. At Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids, they conducted media audits, tracked industry advertisements, and attended press events. As a Fellow at The Frank Karel Fellowship, they gained further insight into public interest communications.

Karen then joined the City of Los Angeles as a Communications Intern, where they wrote press releases, created social media content, and conducted research to follow up on press inquiries.

Karen continued their career as an Account Executive and Junior Account Executive at Katz & Associates, working on digital outreach strategies, proposal development, budgeting, and managing client interactions.

Currently, Karen is working as a Senior Account Executive at Chandler Chicco Agency, where they utilize their expertise in account management and communications.

Throughout their career, Karen has demonstrated their skills in research, budgeting, strategic planning, client management, and digital outreach.
