Gemma Stowers has a diverse work experience in the media industry. Gemma started their career in 2003 as a Production Assistant at Leapfrog Films, where they ensured the smooth running of productions and supervised video duplication. In 2004, they interned for Charles Kriel at the BBC, assisting with a live VJ mix for Glastonbury coverage. From 2006 to 2009, they worked as a Media Management Operator at the BBC, where they collected, ingested, and managed media for various channels. At Ascent Media in 2006, they served as a Transmission Librarian for Flextech. From 2009 to 2013, they were a Playout Director at Red Bee Media, where they operated automation systems and troubleshooted transmission errors. Gemma then joined UKTV in 2013 as a Senior Playout Director, responsible for ensuring accurate schedules, disaster recovery, and team management. Gemma subsequently worked in playout director roles at GB News, Channel 4, and Channel 5. Currently, they are a Transmission Controller at Warner Bros. Discovery, starting in 2023.

Gemma Stowers completed their education at Kingston University from 2001 to 2004, where they earned a BSc (Honours) degree in Media Technology. Prior to that, they attended St Albans Girls School from 1994 to 1999, although no degree or field of study information was specified.
