Michael Terrell

Michael Terrell has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Michael started their career at Brevan Howard, where they worked as an Assistant to the COO of Equity Fund, improving processes through software development and streamlining spreadsheet tools. Michael later joined Queen Mary University of London as a Ph.D. Student/Researcher/Lecturer, teaching courses on audio production, introduction to audio, and control theory. Following this, Terrell held roles at Mix Elephant as a Director, focusing on business planning and development, and at LANDR Audio as a Senior Audio Software Research Engineer, directing research and IP strategy and developing audio classification systems. Michael then worked at Tesco PLC as a Senior Data Scientist, before joining JustPark as the Head of Data & Analytics. Most recently, Terrell has been working at Channel 4, initially as the Chief Data Scientist and currently as the Head of Data Science.

Michael Terrell holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Music Technology from Queen Mary University of London, which they earned from 2008 to 2012. Prior to that, they completed another Ph.D. in Aeronautics from the University of Bristol from 2002 to 2006. Michael also holds a Master of Engineering (MEng) degree in Aerospace, Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering from the University of Bristol, which they obtained from 1998 to 2002.
