Omkar Lad

Omkar Lad has a diverse work experience in the fields of firmware and software engineering. Omkar is currently serving as the Head of Firmware and Software at Chara Technologies since April 2023. Prior to this, they worked as the Lead Engineer - Firmware and Algorithms at the same company from July 2021 to March 2023.

Before joining Chara Technologies, Omkar worked at Asteria Aerospace Private Limited as the Lead Engineer - Avionics Embedded Software from February 2020 to July 2021. Here, they were responsible for leading a team of engineers, designing and developing embedded software projects, managing SDLC processes, and conducting testing and release activities.

From April 2018 to December 2019, Omkar worked at Tonbo Imaging as a Senior Member Of Technical Staff. Omkar played a key role in developing and improving the product architecture of motion control systems for optical payloads. Omkar also contributed to software architecture implementation for real-time embedded systems and established software engineering processes. Additionally, they worked as a Member Of Technical Staff during April 2017 to March 2018, where they focused on firmware development, PCB design, and hardware testing.

Omkar's career began at Grey Orange Pte Ltd in May 2015 as a Firmware Engineer. Omkar'sresponsibilities included writing firmware, designing communication modules, and developing algorithms for warehouse automation systems.

Prior to their industry experience, Omkar gained research experience as a Research Intern at Central Electronics Engineering Research Institute from July 2014 to December 2014. Here, they worked on projects related to object recognition, image processing, and machine learning algorithms.

Overall, Omkar Lad has a strong background in firmware and software engineering, with significant experience in roles involving leadership, design, development, testing, and implementation of embedded software.

From 2011 to 2015, Omkar Lad attended the Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani. Omkar completed a Bachelor of Engineering - BE (Hons.) degree with a focus on Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
