Senior Design Engineer at Chargie

Cameron Sumpter has a diverse work experience in various industries. They began their career in 2010 as an intern at the Inner-City Scholarship Fund. From 2013 to 2014, they worked as a Production Engineer (DJ) at Orange Crate Brewing Company, where they focused on producing efficient and quality sound for events and parties. In 2014, they joined Associated Renewable Inc as an Energy Engineering Intern, where they audited buildings and calculated energy consumption and savings.

In 2015, they worked as a DJ at NYC Best Bars before joining Hip Hop Caucus as an Intern/Production Intern in 2018. At Hip Hop Caucus, they researched and provided information on political and social events, co-engineered the Hip Hop Caucus Podcast, and delivered uplifting insights about current events to communities.

In the same year, they also worked as an Associate PV Systems Designer at Sunrun, where they designed solar panel systems for residential homes, evaluated roof plans for safety concerns and the ability to maintain solar equipment, and evaluated electrical equipment for safety requirements and interconnection possibilities. They then joined Axis Solar Design as a PV Systems Designer in 2018, designing solar panel systems and carports for residential and commercial properties.

From 2019 to 2021, they worked as a Design Engineer at PCS ENERGY LLC and Chargie. In these roles, they designed electric vehicle charging systems using AutoCAD software for residential and commercial properties. They also conducted site visits to evaluate building electrical equipment and systems, as well as determined safety requirements and potential interconnection possibilities for the systems.

Overall, Cameron Sumpter has gained extensive experience in engineering, design, and renewable energy industries throughout their career.

Cameron Sumpter completed their education at Syracuse University from 2008 to 2014, earning an Engineer's Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Additionally, they obtained various certifications from LinkedIn in a range of subjects including project management, coaching and development, delegating tasks, leading productive meetings, managing project stakeholders, managing technical professionals, and Microsoft Project quick tips. These certifications were obtained in January, February, and March of 2023.
