Lars Lund is the Head of School at Mission Dolores Academy in San Francisco. He is a long-time educator who has close ties to Charles Armstrong. In the mid-1990s Lars was the Charles Armstrong School’s summer camp director. In preparing for this role, Lars observed how CAS teachers delivered state of the art instruction to their students. He was amazed at the quality and care with which they taught and empowered their students. What he saw, heard, and learned made him a better parent, teacher and school leader. Because of this, Lars became a champion of Serra’s Academic Resource Center, where many Armstrong alumni have thrived. Lars serves on the Armstrong Board because he believes in the school's mission, and has seen how it empowers each student to learn, grow and achieve at their highest levels. Most importantly, CAS creates a community of hope that is transformative not only for its students but also for their families. He chairs the Development Committee and also serves on the Buildings & Grounds Committee. Lars spent most of his career at Junipero Serra High School where he served as a teacher and then as an administrator. He holds a bachelor’s degreen from Santa Clara University and a master’s degree from the University of San Francisco.
