Head Of Innovation at Charles Owen

Matt Stewart has a diverse work experience in the design and engineering fields. Matt started their career at Spi Play as a Designer, where they created indoor play area structures based on architectural plans and customer specifications. Matt used Autocad and 3ds max to design and render the structures, and also created animations and presentation materials. Matt was responsible for creating detailed instructions for production staff and coordinating with the building team.

Later, Matt joined Charles Owen as a Design Engineer. Here, they primarily focused on designing equestrian helmets using Solidworks. Matt used 3D printing and Ansys (FEA) analysis to create prototypes and ensure the designs met standards. Matt also conducted materials testing and machined tooling and production molds using CNC machines. Matt performed impact testing and other experiments to ensure the helmets were made to appropriate standards.

Currently, Matt holds the position of Head of Innovation at Charles Owen, where they are responsible for leading innovative projects. The exact details of this role are not provided.

Matt Stewart attended Elfed High School from 1996 to 2003, where they completed their A-levels in Biology, Chemistry, and Geography. Following this, from 2003 to 2006, they studied at Liverpool John Moores University, earning a BSc Hons in Sports Technology. During their time at university, they focused on subjects such as CAD, CAE, biomechanics, engineering sports equipment, engineering mathematics, and materials chemistry.
