Thomas Richmond is Co-Head of Taxable SMA Strategies and a Senior Portfolio Manager supporting the Wasmer Schroeder Strategies at Schwab Asset Management.
Previously, Mr. Richmond was the Chief Investment Officer of Wasmer Schroeder (WS), where he oversaw WS’s portfolio management and research functions. Prior to WS, he was a principal of GLC Capital Management LLC (GLC) when WS decided to invest in GLC. The two firms merged in January 2008. Prior to GLC, Mr. Richmond served as senior vice president and manager of mortgage-backed securities trading for McDonald & Company Securities, Inc. He also was the co-head of real estate investment trust (REIT) investment banking. Before McDonald & Company Securities, Mr. Richmond was the head of PaineWebber’s collateralized mortgage obligation (CMO) arbitrage group, responsible for many aspects of the firm’s agency and proprietary CMO issuance businesses. Mr. Richmond also spent time as head of CMO structuring at Salomon Brothers, Inc., now Citigroup Global Markets Holdings Inc., after advancing from the firm’s financial institutions/quantitative support group.
Mr. Richmond earned a Master of Science in Applied Mathematics and a Bachelor of Science in computer science with minors in economics and management from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
