Kirsten Locke is an accomplished academic and professional with extensive experience in education and social work. Currently serving as the Associate Head of School for the School of Information and Applied Sciences and Acting Sub-Dean of Learning and Teaching at Charles Sturt University since June 2012, Kirsten has previously held roles as a Senior Lecturer and Lecturer. Prior experience includes working as a Casual Teacher at TAFE NSW and as a Caseworker at Unitingcare Burnside, where responsibilities encompassed case management and crisis counseling for at-risk youth. Kirsten began a career in support services as a Refuge Worker at Marian Centre Women's Refuge, advocating for women and children escaping domestic violence. Education credentials include a Graduate Certificate in Applied Mindfulness from Nan Tien Institute, a Graduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education from Charles Sturt University, and a Master of Letters from the University of New England, among others. Additionally, Kirsten has pursued leadership training through Small Giants Academy.
