Catherine Hua Xiang

Catherine Hua Xiang is a seasoned academic and professional with extensive experience in intercultural communication, language education, and strategic program development. Currently serving as Course Director at The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), Catherine is the Course Convenor for the first edX course on Intercultural Communications in the Workplace and has held the role of Programme Director for the BSc International Relations and Chinese since 2019. Catherine also oversees operations as UK Director and Academic Director of the Confucius Institute for Business London, focusing on educational provisions and business development. Additionally, Catherine is the Chief Examiner for the IoLET Diploma in Translation: Chinese and has been active as a governor and deputy chair in various educational institutions. With advanced degrees from LSE and The Open University, Catherine has a strong academic foundation that supports a vision to enhance effective communication with China in business contexts.
