Human Resources Director at Chatham County

Courtney Jones has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. They have worked in various roles within the field of human resources and administration. Courtney began their career as a Camp Counselor at YWCA of Greensboro in 2003. In 2007, they joined UltraCraft Cabinetry as a Customer Service Representative, where they worked until 2012. During this time, Courtney also worked as an Administrative Support Specialist at Chatham County's Parks & Recreation department for a brief period in 2012. They then transitioned into the field of human resources, starting as a Human Resources Analyst at Chatham County in 2012 and eventually progressing to the role of Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Officer in 2021. In 2021, Courtney was promoted to Assistant Director Of Human Resources, and in 2023, they assumed the position of Human Resources Director at Chatham County.

Courtney Jones obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology with a minor in Human Resources Management from Guilford College, where they attended from 2003 to 2005. Prior to that, they studied Psychology and Political Science at Wake Forest University from 2000 to 2002. In addition to their degrees, Courtney also holds various certifications, including a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in the Workplace Certificate from USF Corporate Training and Professional Education obtained in November 2022. Courtney is a Myers-Briggs Certified Practitioner, having completed the certification from The Myers-Briggs Company in November 2017. Courtney is also a certified Public Information Officer from FEMA, which they achieved in January 2016. In May 2013, they obtained a certification in Mental Health First Aid from Mental Health First Aid Maryland. Additionally, Courtney has participated in the Advanced Leadership Academy offered by Chatham County and the CDC Work@Health Employer Training provided by the National Center for Disease Control and Public Health Georgia. Courtney also completed a Leadership Academy - Certified Supervisor program through Chatham County.
