Karina Young

Karina Young has extensive experience in people operations and human resources. Karina is currently working at Checkr, Inc. as the Director of People Operations. Prior to this, they held a similar position at Aurora, where they implemented innovative approaches to improve the company's people operations strategy, including launching Workday, improving processes, and developing progressive policies. Karina also led culture transformation initiatives to enhance performance, employee engagement, and inclusion. Before joining Aurora, Karina worked at Khan Academy as a People Operations Manager, where they implemented a company-wide performance review strategy and designed a global onboarding program. Karina also served as an HR business partner to the executive suite. Karina's earlier experience includes working as a Global Operations Manager at Tradeshift, where they developed a global onboarding program and implemented process improvements to optimize organizational culture and efficiency. Karina also managed a global team and ensured a consistent employee experience.

Karina Young completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from San Jose State University from 2006 to 2009. In 2006, they also had the opportunity to study abroad at New York University for a semester, focusing on Cross Cultural Relations. Additionally, in January 2017, Karina obtained a certification in SHRM-CP from SHRM.
