Maria de Caris has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Maria is currently working as a UX Researcher II at Checkr, Inc., starting in November 2021. Before that, they were a UX Researcher at Loop from August 2018 to November 2021, where they played a key role in planning and prioritizing research projects to drive product decision-making. In addition to research, Maria also served as a Product Analyst & UX Designer at Loop, where they contributed to various aspects of product development, including research, design, and marketing.
Prior to their work at Loop, Maria was a 2018 Fellow at Venture for America, where they received training to become an entrepreneur and contribute to job creation. Maria also gained experience as an Economic Development Research Intern at One Columbus, where they conducted research to generate business leads and supported executive meetings. While studying at The Ohio State University, Maria held intern positions at The Ohio State University Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, where they helped develop programs and create visual impact reports, and at Ikove Capital Partners, where they conducted market research and assisted portfolio companies. Maria also interned at Impact Economics, where they supported CRM projects and marketing efforts for the PackH2O water backpack.

Maria de Caris attended Magnificat High School from 2010 to 2014. Maria then pursued their higher education at The Ohio State University from 2014 to 2018, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in City/Urban, Community and Regional Planning.
