Shijo Lazar has a diverse work experience that spans over several years. Shijo started their career as an Assistant Sales Manager at HDFC Standard Life Insurance in December 2006, where they provided effective leadership to a team of 35 financial sales consultants. During their tenure, they handled various responsibilities such as business development, managing personal accounts, home loans, mutual funds, and insurance. Shijo then joined Scotiabank in November 2015 as a Financial Advisor, focusing on dealer and distributor sales achievements. Shijo later moved on to Aviva Canada in 2016. At Aviva, they initially worked as an Associate before transitioning to the role of Small Business Owner in March 2022. Additionally, Shijo also served as the Owner-Director of ABS Transports, which they incorporated in May 2016. The company operated between the USA and Canada, specializing in dry and reefer loads. They aimed to expand into the oil transportation/logistics industry by adding ten commercial trucks by June 2017. ABS Transports aimed to establish a reputation for on-time and accurate service and developed software to track loads.

Shijo Lazar began their education in 2003, obtaining a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in English Language and Literature, General from Thrissur. Shijo then pursued further studies in 2005 and 2006, earning a Business Administration Certificate in Sales and Marketing from Sikkim Manipal University.

In 2013, Shijo Lazar enrolled at Red River College Polytechnic, where they completed a Business Administration Diploma with a focus on Financial Services between 2013 and 2015. During the same period, they also received education in Securities and Mutual Fund through the Canadian Securities Institution.

Shijo further augmented their knowledge and credentials by obtaining a Canadian Investment Funds certification from the IFSE Institute in December 2014.
