Shahzaad Mohammed

Director, Project Governance at Cheniere Energy

Shahzaad Mohammed has a diverse work experience spanning several industries and roles. Shahzaad started their career as a Senior Civil Engineer at the National Project Services and the Public Works Department, where they worked on site and infrastructure development projects. Shahzaad then worked as a Technical Assistant on the Water and Wastewater Masterplan Task Force at the City of Ottawa.

In 1997, Shahzaad joined The National Gas Company of Trinidad and Tobago Limited, where they held various roles. As the Head of Capital Investment Projects and Business Development, they developed strategies to increase natural gas demand through site and marine infrastructure development. Shahzaad also managed the design and commissioning of the Savonetta jetty and oversaw the transfer of harbor tugs assets.

Shahzaad then joined Atlantic LNG Train 4 as the Deputy Engineering Manager, where they focused on infrastructure projects. Shahzaad continued their career at BP as the Deputy Engineering Manager for Infrastructure at Atlantic LNG, where they were responsible for LNG storage tanks, jetty design and construction, and coastal studies.

At Hunt Oil Company, Shahzaad served as the Senior Project Engineer for LNG Storage and Shiploading at Peru LNG. Shahzaad was involved in FEED completion, evaluation of alternative FEEDs, and engineering in London and Paris.

Moving on to Apache Corporation, Shahzaad held the role of Manager of LNG Storage and Marine Facilities for Kitimat LNG. Their responsibilities included conducting FEED studies, managing site improvements, and leading bridge simulations and validations.

In their latest role, Shahzaad worked at Cheniere Energy, Inc. as the Director of Project Governance. Previously, they served as the Director of Technical Services, where they developed a roadmap for operational excellence and expansion of the LNG product base. Shahzaad also established the management system for the operating assets.
