Izabella Pena has a diverse work experience in the field of scientific research and academia. Izabella is currently employed as a Scientist at the CHEO Research Institute and also holds a position as an Assistant Professor at the University of Ottawa. Prior to this, they served as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Picower Institute for Learning and Memory at MIT and a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Whitehead Institute. Izabella also has experience as a Research Associate at the University of Ottawa and as a PhD student in Genetics and Molecular Biology at the Universidade Estadual de Campinas. Izabella was also a Visiting PhD Student at the Structural Genomics Consortium at the University of Oxford. Izabella began their career as a Scientific Initiation Student at UFMG.
Izabella Pena began their education in 2007 at the Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais, where they pursued a Bachelor of Biological Sciences with a focus on Molecular Biology. Izabella completed their degree in 2008. In 2009, they continued their education at the Universidade Estadual de Campinas, where they earned a Bachelor of Biological Sciences with a specialization in Molecular Biology. Izabella completed this degree in 2012. Izabella Pena then went on to pursue a higher level of education, enrolling in a Doctor of Philosophy program at the Universidade Estadual de Campinas. Izabella'sPhD was in the field of Genetics and Molecular Biology, and they successfully completed their studies in 2015.
