Kiran Polavarapu has a diverse range of work experience in the field of research and genetics. They started their career as a Research Associate at the National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences in 2011, where they conducted phenotypic characterization and muscle immunohistochemistry studies in patients with autosomal recessive limb girdle muscular dystrophy. In 2014, Kiran pursued a PhD and became an ICMR fellow in Clinical Neurosciences at the same institute, working in the departments of Clinical Neurosciences and Neurology. Following the completion of their PhD in 2019, Kiran joined MedGenome Labs Private Ltd. as a Clinical Geneticist, where they worked until March 2020. Currently, Kiran is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the CHEO Research Institute, having started in August 2020.
Kiran Polavarapu completed a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Neuromuscular Genetics at the National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences from 2014 to 2019. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (M.B.B.S.) degree in Medicine from the University of Health Sciences, Andhra Pradesh, spanning from 2001 to 2007.
