Nicolas Velez

Nicolas Velez, PhD, is currently a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, focusing on advanced iPSC co-culture models to investigate Alzheimer’s disease and pioneering CRISPR-based platforms for epilepsy and multiple sclerosis research. In addition to this role, Nicolas serves as a Scientific Associate at Atoll Financial Group, contributing to biotech investment strategies and partnerships. Prior experience includes leading research on neural regeneration at The Rockefeller University, coordinating tech sourcing and community events for the Nucleate activator program, and providing strategic consulting on VR/AR applications in neuroscience. Nicolas holds a PhD in Neuroscience from The Rockefeller University and an MSci in Neuroscience from UCL.
