Mikaela van der Merwe

Mikaela van der Merwe has a diverse work experience in the research field. Mikaela started their career at Western University as a Summer Intern in 2019. Later that year, they joined the CHU Sainte-Justine Research Centre as a Student Intern. In 2020, they began working at the CHEO Research Institute, where they have held multiple roles, including Research Trainee, Research Student, and currently serves as a Research Assistant. Their work experience demonstrates their commitment and continuous growth in the research field.

Mikaela van der Merwe completed their Bachelor's degree in Microbiology and Immunology at Université de Montréal from 2017 to 2020. Mikaela then pursued their Master's degree in the same field at the University of Ottawa from 2020 to 2022. Currently, Mikaela is enrolled in the University of Ottawa, where they are working towards a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Microbiology and Immunology.
