Jim Wilgus is an experienced civil engineer with a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from Virginia Tech. Currently serving as the SPLOST Roadway Project Manager for Cherokee County since October 2018, Jim has previously held leadership roles including Director of the Department of Transportation for Cobb County, where oversight encompassed the transportation needs of 700,000 residents, and Deputy Director, managing diverse departmental functions and significant SPLOST Transportation Improvement Program budgets. Earlier experience includes serving as City Engineer for the City of Marietta, directing engineering operations and multiple federally funded projects, and as Engineering Program Director at Gaskins Surveying & Engineering Co., where Jim managed all engineering functions and departmental sales.
