Kayri Havens-Young has extensive experience in the field of plant science and conservation. From 1997 to present, they have served as the Director of Plant Science and Conservation at the Chicago Botanic Garden. Prior to that, they worked as a Conservation Biologist at the Missouri Botanical Garden from 1994 to 1997.
Kayri Havens-Young holds a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Botany, which they obtained from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale between the years 1981 and 1988. Kayri further pursued their education at Indiana University Bloomington, where they completed their PhD in Biology with a specialization in Plant Science from 1988 to 1994.
