Rocky Dong has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Rocky started their career as a Project Engineer at Belcan TechServices in 2000, where they worked on various consulting projects for clients such as Caterpillar, GE, Mercury Marine, and Tecumseh. Rocky'sresponsibilities included defining work scopes, writing project proposals, managing project execution, and delivering resultant packages.
In 2006, Rocky joined Navistar Inc as a Project Engineer in the engine design group. Rocky focused on analysis work for engine models, including modal, stress, and fatigue analysis for various components.
Rocky then moved on to CB&I in 2007, where they held the positions of Lead Engineer and later Principal Engineer. As a Lead Engineer, they worked closely with procurement and construction teams on low-temp and cryogenic storage containment EPC projects. Rocky planned engineering deliverables based on client and project specifications.
In their role as Principal Engineer at CB&I, Rocky took on project management responsibilities from pre-contract engineering package preparation to final package delivery. Rocky provided engineering support for operation/construction and procurement teams and also developed engineering design optimization based on lessons learned and analytical work.
Throughout their career, Rocky Dong has gained expertise in project management, engineering design optimization, and analysis work across various industries.
Rocky Dong earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Business Administration from Northern Illinois University from 2006 to 2008. Prior to that, from 1995 to 2000, Rocky Dong attended the University of Cincinnati and obtained a Master's and Ph.D. in Civil Engineering. Rocky Dong also holds the certification of Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM)® obtained from the Project Management Institute in November 2021.
