Pamela Conroy

Pamela Conroy is an experienced librarian with a diverse background in children's and adult services. Currently serving as a Children's Librarian at Chicago Public Library since May 2019, Pamela previously held the position of Adult Reference Librarian at Highland Park Public Library from May 1998 to June 2021. In this role, responsibilities included reference and readers' advisory services, computer assistance, and outreach. Pamela’s career also includes extensive work as a Youth Services Librarian, emphasizing bilingual programming and community engagement. Early experience includes roles at Evanston Public Library and Distribooks, Inc., where skills in circulation operations and customer service management were developed. Pamela holds a Master of Library & Information Science from Rosary College and a Bachelor of Arts in Communications and Spanish from Bradley University, graduating magna cum laude.
