Ja’qwan Hoskins

Ja’qwan Hoskins is the current Manager of Human Resources at Chicago Scholars. Previously, Ja’qwan served as the Director of Youth Development at PowerNetwork from July 2017 to December 2017 where they created career development content for youth ages 14 to 18, designed career maps to help students identify their careers of interest, and facilitated career panels with Power Consultants. From March 2017 to March 2019, Ja’qwan was a Student Support Aide at GEAR UP. In August 2018 to December 2018, Ja’qwan was a Career Services Intern at UIC Career Services where they learned and applied general career advising such as career development theories, resume writing and review, cover letter writing, job searching strategies, and Linkedin profile development to assist current students and alumni in crafting their professional image and strategy. Prior to that, Ja’qwan was a Facilities Associate at University of Illinois at Chicago Recreation from August 2016 to March 2017 and an Operations Associate at Trunk Club from August 2014 to August 2016.

Ja’qwan Hoskins has a Bachelor's degree in Applied Psychology from the University of Illinois Chicago. Ja’qwan has certification from Coursera in Project Initiation: Starting a Successful Project and Foundations of Project Management. Ja’qwan also has certification from the HR Certification Institute - HRCI in Associate Professional in Human Resources (aPHR).
