Emily Hoerner is a seasoned journalist with extensive experience in investigative reporting and education coverage. Currently serving as a Senior Journalist at the Chicago Tribune Media Group since May 2021, Emily focuses on investigative work. Previous roles include reporting for Injustice Watch, Medill News Service, and the Medill Justice Project, where Emily uncovered critical information in high-stakes investigations. Additionally, Emily has experience in multimedia storytelling, social media management, and grassroots outreach, having worked at the Northwest Side Housing Center and Crain's Chicago Business. Educational credentials include a Master of Science in Journalism from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University and a Bachelor's degree in Journalism and Political Science from the University of Iowa.
