Ryan Mills completed their education history with a Honours B.A. degree in English and History from the University of Toronto Mississauga, which spanned from 1991 to 1995. Ryan then pursued a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree in Law at Queen's University from 1997 to 2000. Finally, they attended York University - Osgoode Hall Law School for their Masters of Laws (LL.M.) degree, specializing in Dispute Resolution, from 2007 to 2008.
