Mel Resonable, MA, SPHR has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. They currently hold the position of Director, Human Resources at Child & Family Service since July 2023. From June 2018 to February 2020, they served as the Sr. Manager, Human Resources at Hawaii Gas, overseeing various aspects of HR including Talent Acquisition, Learning & Organizational Development, Labor Management, Employee Relations, Benefits, Payroll, and HR Operations. They also worked as a Human Resources Generalist at Hawaii Gas from November 2017 to June 2018, where they played a crucial role in full-cycle recruiting and successfully filling key positions.

Prior to their time at Hawaii Gas, Mel worked at Southern California Edison (SCE) as a Sr. HR Consultant, Talent Management from August 2014 to March 2016. In this role, they acted as a senior internal consultant to HR business partner teams and business leaders, focusing on talent management, performance management, and career development. They also played a pivotal role in the implementation of Success Factors HCM: Goal Management module.

Before joining SCE, Mel worked at Electronic Arts (EA) as an HR Manager/Lead HR Business Partner from April 2006 to August 2014. During this time, they implemented various HR initiatives aligned with business goals, such as talent planning, performance management, and organizational development. They also served as a Sr. HR Technology Analyst - HRIT at EA from December 2004 to March 2006.

Prior to EA, Mel worked as a Global HR Business and Systems Analyst - HRIT at Trend Micro from 2003 to 2004 and as a Global HR Process Engineer/Project Lead - HRIT at Hewlett Packard Enterprise from 1999 to 2003. Their earlier roles include working as a Staffing Specialist at Sony Electronics from 1998 to 1999 and as a Recruiter at Select Staffing from 1997 to 1998.

With their extensive experience in diverse HR roles and leadership positions, Mel brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to their current role at Child & Family Service.

Mel Resonable has a Master of Arts degree in Organizational Psychology from John F. Kennedy University. Prior to that, Mel obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Industrial and Organizational Psychology from San Jose State University. In addition to Mel's formal education, they also hold a certification as a Senior Professional in Human Resources from the HR Certification Institute - HRCI.
