Leslie Corona, MAM, has extensive experience in human resources, spanning various roles and industries. Leslie started their career as a Human Resources Generalist at Wesco Industries, where they focused on maintaining positive labor/employee relations and talent acquisition. Leslie then worked as a Bilingual Workforce Advisor/Employment Specialist at Iowa Workforce Development, conducting interviews and providing orientation programs. Leslie later became an Associate HR Manager at Smithfield Foods, facilitating employment functions and maintaining a positive labor/employee relations environment. Leslie also worked as a People Operations Specialist at Speedway Motors, Inc, partnering with hiring managers for recruitment and onboarding. Leslie then joined General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems as a Human Resources Specialist before transitioning to John Henry's Plumbing, Heating, and Air Conditioning as a Human Resources Generalist. In these roles, they executed onboarding processes, managed payroll, and led staff recruitment efforts. Most recently, Leslie served as a Director Human Resources Business Partners at Green Plains Inc., and they are currently working as the Human Resources Director at Child Saving Institute.
Leslie Corona, MAM, obtained a Bachelor's degree in Management from Buena Vista University, located in Storm Lake, IA, from the years 2010 to 2011. Later, from 2018 to 2020, they pursued their Master's degree in Management with an emphasis in Leadership at Doane University.
Child Saving Institute
Child Saving Institute (CSI) was founded in 1892 and has been dedicated to the needs of children and families in the greater Omaha area for over 131 years. The mission is "responding to the cry of a child", but it is the vision that guides us as we work to give the children we serve safe, happy childhoods. CSI's vision is that "all children have homes where hope is kindled and dreams can be achieved". CSI's programming is diverse, but so are the needs of today's children and youth. Services address the prevention, intervention and healing from child abuse, neglect, and abandonment. Programs include Early Childhood Education, In-Home Support for families struggling to stay together, Foster Care, Mental Health Services including Pediatric & Adolescent Therapy, parent support and education programs, an Emergency Shelter, and adoption for older children and youth. Thanks to the generosity of many donors, annually the organization serves over 2,500 kids and families each year.
