Child Trends
Kristen Darling is an accomplished research scientist at Child Trends, where expertise in early childhood education and care program delivery has been honed since August 2007. Prior experience includes serving as a training and curriculum specialist for the Marine Corp Base Hawaii Children Youth & Teen Programs, where coordination and delivery of Department of Defense staff training were managed for multiple child-care centers. Kristen also contributed as a project coordinator at the Hawaii Medical Association, focusing on pediatric consultation services and cultural competence in early childhood programs. Earlier in the career, Kristen worked as a preschool teacher, designing child-centered curriculum and engaging with families. Kristen holds a Master's degree in Public Policy with a focus on Social Policy from American University.

The Early Childhood Data Collaborative (ECDC) supports state policymakers’ development and use of coordinated state early care and education (ECE) data systems. The ECDC provides tools and resources to encourage data-driven state policy changes and provide a national forum to support the development and use of coordinated state ECE data systems.
