Joan Podleski has extensive experience in compliance and privacy risk management solutions, particularly within the healthcare industry. Joan began their career in 1986 at Washington University in St. Louis, where they held various positions over a span of 20+ years, focusing on clinical practice management, regulatory compliance, and research management. In 2007, they joined Duke University as the Director of the Institutional Ethics & Compliance Program. Following this, they started their own firm in 2014, where they worked as a Consultant specializing in compliance and privacy risk management solutions until 2016. Joan then joined Children's Health System of Texas in 2016 as the Senior Director and Chief Privacy Officer, overseeing privacy operations within a pediatric health system associated with the University of Texas Southwestern. Their most recent position, starting from March 2022, is as the Vice President and Chief Privacy Officer at Children's Health, where they continue to contribute their expertise in ensuring privacy compliance.

Joan Podleski obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in History/Paralegal Studies from Webster University. Joan also holds additional certifications, including Certified in Healthcare Research Compliance (CHRC) from the Health Care Compliance Association (obtained in 2011), Certified in Healthcare Privacy Compliance (CHPC) from the Health Care Compliance Association (obtained in 2011), and Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP) from the Society of Corporate Compliance and Ethics (obtained in 2009).
