Samee Zahid

Samee Zahid has a diverse work experience spanning multiple roles and industries. Samee is currently the Director of Engineering at Chipper Cash, where they lead multiple teams in areas such as risk, identity, growth, and machine learning. Prior to this, Samee worked as a Staff Software Engineer and Technical Lead Manager at Chipper Cash, where they contributed to various initiatives in fraud prevention, risk scoring, and user engagement. Samee also established the Applied ML & Data Science team and hired ML engineers, data scientists, and analysts. Before joining Chipper Cash, Samee worked at Google as a Software Engineer, focusing on end-to-end machine learning and natural language processing for Google's Geo Search Ranking team. Samee successfully launched and led the development of a new cross-modal ranking system for Google Reviews. Samee also has experience in mentorship and leadership roles at Venture for Pakistan, Grinnell AppDev, and Major League Hacking. Their technical skills include Python, ML frameworks, API design, and mobile development.

Samee Zahid completed their high school education at Lahore Grammar School from 2011 to 2013, with a focus on A-Level studies. Samee then pursued a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science at Grinnell College from 2013 to 2017. During their time at Grinnell College, Samee also participated in an off-campus study program at AIT-Budapest in 2016, furthering their knowledge in the field of Computer Science.
