Senior Materials & Processes Engineer - R&d at Chipton-Ross Inc.

Matthew Roberts has a diverse work experience in the aerospace industry. Matthew started their career as a Boeing intern, where they gained hands-on experience in designing experimental test fixtures and optimizing manufacturing processes for the 787 and 777X. Matthew then worked as a Material Physics & Processes Engineer in Boeing's Research & Technology group, focusing on R&D for the all-new CFRP wing of the 777X. After that, they served as a Principal Aeronautical Engineer at Cubic Corporation, leading a small team to develop a full graphite composite Group III ISR UAV. Matthew then worked at Northrop Grumman as an Advanced Composites Manufacturing Engineer, and at Gener8 as a Senior Manufacturing Engineer. Currently, Matthew is working at Chipton-Ross, Inc. as a Materials and Process Engineer, specializing in innovative manufacturing process development for commercial aerospace applications, particularly in composite structure assembly and fixturing.

Matthew Roberts completed their high school education at San Marcos High School from 2006 to 2010. Matthew then pursued a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Aerospace, Aeronautical, and Astronautical Engineering from California State University, Long Beach, which they completed between 2010 and 2015. Additionally, in 2016, they obtained a Professional Certificate in Systems Engineering & Architecture from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
