Her clinical work focuses on assisting survivors of psychological abuse in families and relationships. She has worked in the area of family trauma for over a decade, assisting clients with recovery from childhood trauma, psychological abuse, and CPTSD.

She has extensive experience supporting clients and survivors with IPV and post-separation abuse through the legal

system. Her recent book, Invisible Bruises: How a Better Understanding of the Patterns of Domestic Violence Can Help

Survivors Navigate the Legal System, sheds light on the ways that the legal system can perpetuate the cycle of domestic violence by failing to recognize patterns that would otherwise hold perpetrators accountable and protect survivors.

Kaytee has been featured on Iheart radio, CP24 news out of Toronto, Shaye Ganam’s radio show, and numerous others advocating for changes within the legal system to better protect survivors. Gillis provides training on recognizing patterns of IPV, post separation abuse, and family trauma, helping survivors move forward.
