Gus Childs

Gus Childs is a seasoned software engineer currently serving as a Senior Software Engineer at Chord since November 2023, focusing on data-first, API-first commerce solutions for direct-to-consumer brands. Previously, Gus was a Founding Software Engineer at Maker Wine, where contributions included re-platforming the DTC website to a headless OMS with a React storefront. Experience as an Independent Software Engineer involved React development for NBC.com and building design systems for the state of Georgia. Gus also held the position of Lead Software Engineer at Mondo Robot, architecting a Vue design system for the Michael J Fox Foundation while mentoring team members. At Chromatic, as Lead Developer, Gus developed design systems and CMS platforms for notable clients like MSNBC and NBC, alongside contributions to open-source communities. Earlier experience as a Web Developer at Northwestern University included building CMS platforms for several organizations. Gus holds a BS in Interactive Media and Business Management from Bradley University.
