Chris Hickerson

Chris Hickerson, CPA, MST, MBA has a diverse work experience spanning various roles in different companies.

Starting in 2022, Hickerson joined Churchill Downs Incorporated as the Vice President and Controller.

Prior to that, from 2019 to 2022, Hickerson worked at Churchill Downs Interactive Gaming LLC, where they held multiple roles. Chris started as a Senior Accountant in Online Wagering, then became the Director of Sports Betting & iGaming Accounting, and later served as the Senior Director of Accounting for Online Wagering.

From 2016 to 2019, Hickerson worked at Churchill Downs Incorporated as a Senior Corporate Accountant.

Before joining Churchill Downs, Hickerson had experience at Humana as a Corporate Accounting Manager and Corporate Accounting Consultant from 2015 to 2016.

From 2014 to 2015, Hickerson worked at Payment Alliance International as a Senior Accountant and Staff Accountant.

At UPS, Hickerson held various roles including Senior Accounting Specialist, Accounting Associate, Financial Analyst, and Payroll Liaison from 2010 to 2014.

In the early years of their career, Hickerson worked as a Tax Intern at Harding, Shymanski & Company, P.S.C. and as a Scheduling Supervisor at Ford Motor Company.

Chris Hickerson, CPA, MST, MBA holds a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Taxation from Bellarmine University. Chris also completed an Accounting Certificate at the University of Louisville in 2010. In addition, they have a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from the University of Louisville, obtained in 2009. Chris Hickerson's undergraduate education includes a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) from the University of Louisville, which they received between 1993 and 1997. Chris is also a Certified Public Accountant, obtained from the Kentucky State Board of Accountancy in July 2014.
