Katie L. Liberatore

Katie L. Liberatore has a diverse work experience, starting with their role as a High School Research Intern at the University of New Mexico in 2001. Katie L. then worked as an Undergraduate Research Assistant, studying DNA damage response pathways and RNA splicing in yeast. After completing their undergraduate studies, they joined the University of New Mexico as a Post-Baccalaureate Research Scholar, where they studied photosynthetic algae and their symbiotic relationship with marine organisms from the Great Barrier Reef.

Katie then moved on to Calyxt, a biotechnology company, in 2018. Katie L. held several roles within the company, including R&D QA/QC Manager, R&D Operations Manager, Senior Manager of Trait Discovery & Targeting, and Director of Molecule Design & Pathway Discovery.

Currently, they are working at Cibus as the Strategy & Sustainable Ingredients - Molecule Design Director & Roseville, MN Site Operations Lead, and is also the Executive Director of Operations.
