Gillen Jennifer is an experienced naturalist currently serving at the Cincinnati Nature Center since November 2016, where focus is on educating school groups about the natural world. Simultaneously, Gillen leads educational hikes at Hocking Hills Adventure Trek since February 2013, specializing in flora, fauna, geology, and Native American history. Academic experience includes a position as a Biology Professor at the University of Rio Grande and Rio Grande Community College from August 2015 to May 2016, where lesson plans were developed for non-majors, and previous roles in research and teaching at Ohio University, as well as work as an Avian Technician at The Ohio State University. Gillen holds a Master’s Degree in Botany/Plant Biology from Ohio University, a Bachelor’s Degree in Wildlife Science from Virginia Tech, and an Associate’s Degree in Fish and Wildlife Management from Hocking College.
