Blake Walters

Blake Walters has a diverse work experience spanning different roles and industries. Blake currently works at CircleCI, where they started in 2019 as a Senior Engineering Manager and eventually became the Senior Director of Engineering in July 2022. At CircleCI, they played a key role in scaling the engineering organization, leading multiple domains in product engineering, and establishing processes for OKRs. Blake also built a data engineering discipline and implemented an analytics platform. Currently, they oversee eight engineering teams in the Product Experiences space.

Prior to CircleCI, Blake worked at InVision as an Engineering Manager from 2017 to 2019. In this role, they led a team of full-stack engineers and contributed to the development of collaboration and conversation tools. Before that, they were a Senior Software Engineer at InVision from March 2017 to September 2017.

Blake's experience also includes working at HashiCorp as a Software Engineer from 2015 to 2017, where they were responsible for leading front-end engineering and driving the design and implementation of Ember.js applications. Blake started their career at Big Cartel as a Front-End Developer from 2012 to 2015, leading the front-end development of the e-commerce platform.

In 2010, Blake worked at Viget Labs as a Senior Front-End Developer, where they were involved in various web application development projects and custom content management system implementations. Notable clients during this period include Duke Admissions, Epic Games, Rumble Games, and EarthEcho.

Before joining Viget Labs, Blake worked at Crispin Porter + Bogusky as a Senior User Interface Architect from 2007 to 2010. In this role, they led the implementation of standards-based front-end solutions for websites and sustainable web applications. Blake also provided technical education and training for developers, producers, and designers.

Blake began their career at Delta Systems Group as a Web Developer from 2004 to 2007. Blake also had a brief internship as an IT Intern at American Power Conversion in 2004.

Blake Walters attended the University of Missouri-Columbia from 2001 to 2005, where they pursued a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science.
