We are a non-profit reshaping Berlin’s metabolism – by developing the local circular economy agenda and its implementation, through research, community-building and practical programmes.

Our vision:
Resources are sourced locally if possible, used only if truly needed, and their value is maintained as part of a continuous loop ー within the limits of our planet. Waste and pollution are non-existent. People’s lives and jobs positively affect their neighbourhoods and communities.

What we do:

Knowledge building & practical projects
We develop knowledge and practical programs on the circular economy, focusing on food & biomass, textile & fashion, the built environment,  materials & products, and city metabolism.

Community building
We bring together and support Berlin’s circular economy actors, by connecting them through open-source tools and regular events.

Education
We offer best-in-class training workshops that combine theoretical understanding with practical applications, hands-on activities, and real-world insights.

The Education and Communication team at Circular Berlin is responsible for developing and delivering training workshops on the circular economy, combining theoretical understanding with practical applications. They engage in community outreach via social media, PR, and events to promote and facilitate the implementation of circular practices. The team also collaborates on service design and circular design projects to support and educate Berlin's circular economy actors.

The Textile Team at Circular Berlin is dedicated to advancing the circular economy within the textile and fashion industry. The team focuses on research, material studies, and content development to drive sustainable practices. Through proposal development and practical implementation, they aim to reduce waste and pollution, promote local sourcing, and maintain the value of textile resources in a continuous loop. This is achieved by developing knowledge, building a supportive community, and offering educational workshops to foster a culture of sustainability in Berlin's textile sector.
