Gavin Cochrane

Gavin Cochrane is a seasoned software engineering professional with extensive experience in managing and developing embedded software solutions. Currently serving as Manager of Software Engineering at Cirrus Logic since January 2017, Gavin has also held leadership roles such as Principal Software Engineer. Previous positions include Firmware Engineering Manager at STI Limited, where responsibility encompassed project management and team development, and Senior Firmware Engineer roles at SSE plc, Onzo Ltd., and Accenture. Gavin's technical expertise extends to multi-threaded real-time kernel features and device drivers, specifically utilizing C, C++, and ARM assembler on various platforms, including Zigbee technology and ARM Cortex systems. An alumnus of the University of Nottingham with a BEng in Software Electronics Engineering, Gavin has developed a strong skill set in embedded systems across multiple high-pressure environments since beginning a career at Siemens.
