Namhoon Kim

Namhoon Kim is a seasoned engineering professional with extensive experience in hardware and software engineering across notable companies in the tech industry. As the Senior Director of Hardware Engineering at Cisco since June 2025, Namhoon leads the Physical Design and Methodology/CAD organization for core Switching, Routing, and Wireless products. Previously, Namhoon held the role of Senior Director of R&D Engineering at Synopsys Inc, overseeing the SLM hardware organization and acting as Chief of Staff to support project planning and execution. Namhoon's background also includes significant positions at Intel Corporation, where responsibilities included leading global power teams and driving AI and machine learning initiatives, and Oracle, where a tool development team was managed for static timing analysis. Early career experiences at Samsung Electronics involved developing design methodologies and various analytical tools. Namhoon holds a Ph.D. in Computer Engineering from the University of Southern California.
