Dean Shaw

Dean Shaw has a diverse work experience in the financial industry. Dean began their career at Macquarie Group in 2006, where they worked in Middle Office Operations for the Equity Markets Group. In 2009, they joined ASX as a Compliance Adviser, specializing in Equities and ETD. After three years, they moved to Commonwealth Bank, where they worked in Compliance for Global Markets and Institutional Equities. In 2016, they joined UBS as the Director of Monitoring, Surveillance, and Controls for Australia and New Zealand. Dean later took on the role of Director of Cash Equities Compliance and Operational Risk, and eventually became the Executive Director and APAC Head of Electronic Trading and Cash Equities Compliance. In 2023, they joined Citadel Securities as the Head of HFT and Futures Compliance for the APAC region.

Dean Shaw obtained a Bachelor of Economics degree from the University of Newcastle between 2002 and 2004. Dean then continued their education at the same university and earned a Bachelor of Laws degree from 2002 to 2006. Afterward, from 2010 to 2014, Dean pursued a Master of Applied Finance specializing in Risk Management and Instruments & Valuation at Macquarie University.
