Huiyuan(Sam) Lin

Full-stack Developer at Citcon

Huiyuan Lin, also known as Sam, has a work experience that spans several roles and companies. Starting in 2015, Sam worked at IBM as an Intern for their GBS division. During this time, they collected and analyzed large Excel datasets, designed questionnaires, and assisted in organizing industry events.

In 2016, Sam took on a role as a Provisioning Engineer-Intern at Hydro One, where they gained experience in project management, database support, and telecom network design. Huiyuan(Sam) also collaborated with external vendors on technical deployment details and conducted reviews of vendor proposals.

Following their time at Hydro One, Sam joined TELUS as a System Analyst/Developer in 2017. In this role, they extracted data from various systems, performed coding using Java and .NET, and met with clients to gather requirements and validate solutions. Huiyuan(Sam) also gained experience in data mapping and transformation using techniques such as XSLT and SSIS.

Continuing their career progression, Sam joined IBM once again in 2018 as a Software Developer. During their tenure, they contributed to software development projects and worked on coding assignments.

In 2019, Sam started working at Boro as a Full-stack Developer. During their time with Boro, they contributed to the development of their software products and played a key role in their full-stack development efforts.

Most recently, in 2021, Sam joined CITCON as a Full-stack Developer, where they are currently employed.

Huiyuan (Sam) Lin attended the University of Toronto from 2011 to 2016, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Computer Science and Economics. Additionally, in March 2019, Sam obtained two additional certifications: the IBM Certified Database Associate - DB2 11.1 Fundamentals for LUW from IBM Professional Certification, and the IBM Developer Jumpstart - Practitioner from IBM.
