Thomas Maclin has extensive experience in the banking industry, having held various roles at multiple banks. From 1983 to 1989, they worked as a Vice President and Branch Manager at Sturdy Savings Bank. Following that, they served as a Vice President and Branch Manager at Brandywine Savings Bank from 1989 to 1992. Thomas then joined PNC Bank as a Sector Manager, where they managed several branches from 1989 to 2000. In 2000, they joined National Penn as a Vice President and Branch Manager until 2014. During this time, they also worked as a Treasurer at Middletown Community Foundation starting in 2001. In 2014, they joined Citizens & Northern Bank as a Vice President and Regional Business Development Manager. Additionally, they have a long history of involvement with Doylestown Presbyterian Church, where they served as an Elder and held various leadership positions from 1999 onwards.

Thomas Maclin completed their high school education at Concord High School from 1975 to 1978, earning a Diploma with a concentration in Business. Following this, they pursued higher education at the University of Delaware from 1979 to 1982, graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting.
